Professional EXPERIENCE

Solid Light | May 2022-Present | Creative Director

As Creative Director I lead teams of 2D, 3D, UX/UI designers, producers, writers, content developers through the all phase of a project— planning, design, fabrication, and installation. Projects range from branded environments, immersive learning experiences, and traditional museum exhibitions.

Solid Light | May 2021-May 2022 | Associate Creative Director

As an Associate Creative Director I lead project teams on projects with budgets ranging from $100,000 to $1 million through the all phase of a project— planning, design, fabrication, and installation. Projects range from branded environments, immersive learning experiences, and traditional museum exhibitions.

On larger scale projects, with budgets over $1 million, I assisted the Creative Director on leading teams through all phases of a project—planning, design, fabrication, and installation.

Solid Light | August 2018-May 2021 | Senior Exhibit Designer

As a Senior Designer I create 3D models, hand sketches, digital sketches, story maps, materials boards, and information diagrams to communicate concepts. I present team concepts to clients throughout each phase of the project through formal and informal presentations. I create print production ready files, fabrication drawings, install instructions, and client ready approval sheets.

Additionally, I act as the project lead on mid-sized projects. In this capacity I oversee the creative vision with a team of designers, writers, fabricators, architects, and project managers. Reporting directly to the Creative Director and Executive Creative Director I ensure that all phases of the project are completed on time and on budget, and most importantly, align with the clients aspirations and goals while effectively serving their target audience.

Solid Light | June 2015-August 2018 | Exhibit Designer

In addition to executing concept visualizations, print ready material, and fabrication documentation, I acted as the project lead on smaller-scale projects and as a supporting designer on larger-scale projects.

Additional EXPERIENCE

DC Greens | July 2014- August 2015 | Graphic Design and Construction Intern

Working with local schools and community organizations, DC Greens connects low income and under-served communities with healthy, local produce. As a graphic design intern I have the opportunity to illustrate a “picture cookbook”, create recipe card templates, brochures, and one page marketing materials. As a construction intern I am working on construction plans for a greenhouse made from salvaged materials. I am also helping the build team construct a number of projects including a covered seating area in their main garden.

Digital Media Directed Study | National Museum of African American History & Culture | May 2014- Aug 2014

Under the direction of Selma Thomas, digital media specialist at the NMAAHC, I prepared an image based presentation to help better inform the design and production of the “Cultural Expressions” film. Collaborating with other interns I investigated a wide range of historic, academic, and popular images that represent a broad scope of important cultural experiences.

International Finance Corporation | Jan 2014- May 2014 | IFC Footprint Campaign

World Bank Group | Jul2014- Dec 2014 | thINK Campaign Core Design Team

As part of my Studio II class through the Corcoran College of Art + Design I worked collaboratively with classmates to develop the “thINK” campaign aimed at reducing IFCs ink and print waste by FY15. The challenge from the client was to create an engaging digital campaign and installation in the HQ atrium space that would reduce the IFCs print footprint. Through oversized vinyl inforgraphics on elevator walls, a “thINK” CMYK ribbon installation, and a digital messaging campaign we asked employees to “thINK before they INK.”

The success of the campaign was evident when the larger World Bank Group asked to extend not only the duration of the installation and campaign, but to expand its scope to all the World Bank Group offices in DC. I was chosen, along with five other students, to lead this effort as part of a core design team. We will be creating a style guide as well as developing new installation ideas and construction plans for the other office buildings.

Greenbrier Learning Center | Jun 2008-Nov 2010 | AmeriCorps VISTA

In my two years of service as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer at the Greenbrier Learning Center I coordinated all aspects of their adult education program, volunteer program, and all special events. I developed and piloted a Summer Teen Internship Program to support summer camp activities. In all aspects of my job I collaborated closely with local organizations to respond to community needs. In addition, I spearheaded GLC’s social media marketing campaign and consulted on their new website design, received, processed, and tracked all in-kind donations, and reported to and collaborated closely with the Executive Director on grant proposals, and maintained the grant tracking system
